For the first time in over a year I boarded a plane and flew away to another city. I started my day in Cleveland but had my FNM in Salt Lake City with Shane and Tekoa and young Alex.
Such a simple thing that was a weekly or monthly occurrence for so long.
I had a glass of Rosé in the airport at Vino Volo along with a hummus platter. On the plane I had a white wine and a scotch. I was in business class for all flights since there is still so little demand.
Shane picked me up in the all new and completely unrecognizable SLC airport. They tore down the old one just in the 18 months or so since I’ve flown through here.
Shane and Tekoa live in a beautiful house high above the city with an amazing back yard. So we hung out there. We had a martini and then a moscow mule and wine with dinner. Shane is a solid cook and made smoked chicken thighs and ribs 2 ways and roasted vegetables.
Lovely to see my good nephew and Tekoa and Alex and Rex the dog. Been too long.
Rex is 2-year old boxer/Rhodesian Ridge mix and he is fantastic. Lovely dog.
Tomorrow we are off for Zion and biking and hiking.
