My super cool friend Amy lives in Sewickley. Pa that is. ‘Sweetwater’ to the natives. I made my first trip to this little midwestern suburb of Pittsburgh. We drank, caught up over drinks and then had a few more drinks. We canoed at a big beautiful lake, walked a bit of the town and generally enjoyed catching up after not seeing one another for a year. We had one really great meal, one nice big breakfast and one really terrible meal but on a great patio.
I had my first exposure to ‘SOI’. As in Son’s of Italy; Sewickly outpost. Amy is neither Italian nor a son of an Italian, but she became a proud member on the night I was there. We drank to celebrate. I took over the jukebox with my fancy smartphone app. Fun was had by all.
