Time to think on that honored tradition of reflecting back on the latest trip around the sun. It some ways it was just a continuation of the year before. Great times with Brittany. Raising a dog. Working, but making time for fun. I feel blessed in so many ways. I honestly don’t know what could make my life feel more complete or bring more happiness. I make enough money to do pretty much what I want when I want, but not enough to quit working—which would probably just fuck things up. Idle time and all that.
Black Dog Ridge got finished in this year past. Which is amazing. It’s my new happy place. We launched UMass Memorial into the modern era by implementing Workday Cloud for Finance, Supply Chain and Human Resources for their 25,000 caregivers. A great success of a project by any measure. A good strong team doing the hard work it takes to replace and consolidate 3 legacy on-prem systems to a modern cloud-based application. I still take pride in my work for good or for ill.
We visited a lot of places this year. Brittany got to see Montana for the first time, where we watched rugby and reminisced with the old boys. We got to Florida, Pennsylvania, DC, Virginia, Georgia, Massachusetts, Tennessee, Texas, Kentucky, San Francisco, North and South Carolina, Kentucky and of course our beloved West Virginia. I took a boys trip to Scotland for rugby and whisky tasting and later Netherlands for more whiskey and exploring the northern islands and oyster hunting.
There’s more. Lot’s more. Of course.
